Why Run Army?
Our goal is to deliver a world class event which results in an unrivalled partnership, demonstrating support for serving members, veterans and the wider community.
Run Army is a great way for people to come together for a fun running event, alongside those who commit their lives to protecting them. It’s a chance to say thanks for the job they do, and to show support for their efforts on this one special day of the year, the Sunday leading into Anzac Day.
We invite the community to join us in recognising the ANZAC spirit and push themselves physically and mentally alongside current serving soldiers, and our First Responders from the Queensland Police, Queensland Ambulance and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. Run Army has already raised over $500,000 in support of Legacy, and hopes to expand this fundraising effort for charities supporting Police, Ambulance and Fire services veterans and their families.
Welcome to Country

Traditional Welcome to Country
As you ready yourself for the challenge ahead on the start line, take a moment to reflect and enjoy the traditional welcome to country.
As the haze clears, you are ready to start your Run Army journey.
This Isn't Your Usual Fun Run...
No ordinary start line siren to set you off on your way
Start your Run Army event with a bang… literally… and reverberate throughout the Brisbane CBD to mark the start of Run Army, before thousands of participants take to the city streets and wind around the Brisbane River for the 5km and 10km events.

Your water station support…
The Bushmaster
The heavily relied upon Bushmaster, will be here to keep you rehydrated during Run Army. Along the course, you will see a Protected Mobility Vehicle. Serving in East Timor, Afghanistan and Iraq, this four wheel drive armoured vehicle has been most recently deployed throughout Australia in support of natural disasters and security response tasks.
Royal Australian Artillery will be at the finish line with two of their M777A2 lightweight towed howitzers
Don’t let the name fool you, these are anything but light at 4100kg! It won’t be firing, but the M777 can provide direct support to combat troops through offensive and defensive fires with conventional and precision-guided projectiles. It can also employ illuminating and smoke projectiles.

Stay motivated and keep your feet moving with live music
Keep your energy high as the Australian Army Band and Pipes & Drums brings a powerful soundtrack to your Run Army experience, motivating you with every beat along the course!
Run Army Race Village
Australian Army equipment displays
A range of Australian Army equipment will be on show on Saturday and Sunday at Run Army Race Village. Several soldiers will be on hand to answer any questions you have on Army equipment, training and careers.

It is also a great opportunity for the whole community to show their support to those that have served or continue to serve, while enjoying the sights and sounds of Brisbane city.”
