  • What is Run Army?

    Run Army is a new fun run promoting resilience, teamwork and endurance. The event brings together the Australian Army, Legacy and the community to support soldiers returning from injury.

    In 2022, Run Army participants will run/walk 5 km or 10 km around Brisbane?CBD on Sunday April 24. Funds raised from Run Army will go toward Legacy, who have supported the families of deceased and injured families since 1923.

  • Online registrations for Run Army are closed. Can I still register?

    Yes! You can STILL register in person at Race Kit collection on Saturday 23 April from 9am - 4pm or on Sunday 24 April from 6:30am Riverstage in Brisbane.

    Please note: Unfortunately, we can’t accept registrations via email or phone.

  • How do I create a team? How many people can join a team?

    Team Captains register first, members can then join the team. Any number of people can join a team.

  • Can I still make changes to my entry including changing events and transferring my entry to someone else?

    Please see us at the help desk at Riverstage on Saturday 23 April 9-4pm and we will be able to assist you with your transfer. No transfers will be permitted on race day.

  • I can no longer attend, can I get a refund?

    Due to the charitable donation as part of your registration to the Run Army 2022 event, we regret that we are unable to issue refunds.

Virtual Run

 
  • Can?make it to Brisbane? Join us virtually!

    Sign up now to take part in Run Army 22, from your own neighbourhood. We would love you to join us, to support our Australian Army soldiers and the families of our fallen and injured veterans.

    Take on the 5km or 10km and pay tribute to the 41 Australian soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan, and the many more who were wounded, physically or mentally.

    Donations from the physical event go to Legacy Brisbane and donations from the virtual event will be donated to local Legacy Clubs.

  • Taking part in the Virtual Run Army events is easy!

    1. Sign up for your favourite event. This event is for people of all ages and fitness levels and is designed to encourage people from all backgrounds to run.
    2. To support our soldiers, choose any day you would like to run between Sunday 17 and Sunday 24 April 2022. Run your distance, and record your run on your preferred device and/or platform. We suggest downloading STRAVA and joining the Run Army Australia group.
    3. Why not get your friends involved and raise money for Legacy?
    4. Share your results with the Run Army community! Upload your results, tag @runarmyau on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and show your support.

Donations

 
  • Where do my donations go?

    Run Army is a fun run event with Legacy Brisbane as the beneficiary. A portion of registration fee and donations go toward Legacy Brisbane who support veterans' families after the loss or injury of their loved one.

    Legacy Brisbane supports more than 6,200 people, including widow(er)s, young families and people with a disability, across South East, Central and Western Queensland. Find out more at the Legacy Brisbane website here.

  • I want to support a team or individual without registering. How can I do this?

    Find the page of the team or individual you want to support. On the page, make a donation using the 'Donate' button. Your donation will be attributed to the page and will count toward the page's fundraising total.
    Donations to an individual will also be added to that person's team total.

    Parking

    Plan ahead and park in one of the following easy to access locations for your Run Army experience.

    Event participants and spectators can park at a variety of locations within short walking distance of the event start and finish line and close to a range of fantastic restaurants. Limited spaces are available within each location Wintergarden, Charlotte Street, Mary Street. Visit http://secureparking.com.au to book online.

    When should you plan to arrive?

    Please ensure you are aware of all road closures and changed traffic conditions in place for the event. We recommend you plan to arrive at least 1.5hrs before your race start time. Join us for the excitement of the official Welcome to Country (7:05am) and Howitzer Cannon (7:30am) at the start line on Alice Street.

    5km - 8.30am

    Event precinct

    All Run Army events start on Alice Street in Brisbane City. All events feature a rockstar finish at the Brisbane Riverstage.

    Baggage storage

    Your race number will include a tear off tag complete with your race number identification. Bring this with you and affix to your bag whilst you hit the streets of Brisbane.

    Note: Whilst all care is taken, baggage storage is utilised at your own risk. We recommend leaving valuables at home.

  • Where is the event being held?

    The event is being held within the Brisbane CBD. The start and finish points will be located in vicinity of the Brisbane Botanical Gardens. A map of the route is available here.

  • Where can I park?

    Plan ahead and park in one of the following easy to access locations for your Run Army experience.

  • How long is the course?

    The course consists of a 5km and 10km run/walk option. Both courses will contain an array of military armoured vehicles and hardware displays. A course map is available at the bottom of this page.

  • Will I receive my race times?

    Results and tracking will be supplied by our timing partner, Sports Event Services. Your race bib number has an integrated timing chip, which will record your personal finish time for your event. Scan your QR code on your race number to view your finish time or visit the event website.

  • What do I need to bring and are there storage facilities?

    Your race bib number will have a special tear off tag that can be affixed to your baggage. A bag drop area will be available where you can leave your items whilst on course. Please note Legacy and the Army take no responsibility for lost or stolen items.

  • Where do I collect my shirt?

    If you have registered to receive a Race Kit after Monday 21 March, you can collect your kit at the Riverstage in Brisbane on Saturday 23 April from 9am – 4pm. Strictly no Race Kit collections on race day.

  • Can I change my shirt size?

    Due to COVID-19, we are unable to swap shirts if they have already been tried on.

  • Can I bring my family?

    We encourage spectators at the Run Army event!

  • Can children participate?

    Yes, the course is open to people of all ages. Student tickets are available and children in prams can participate for free. (Children in prams will not be provided a T-Shirt or race bib unless they are registered as a student).

  • Is there a COVID safe plan?

    Yes. The Army has a COVID safe plan and is following Queensland Health guidelines. Please adhere to the information regarding COVID-19 in the T&Cs and stay home if you are unwell.

  • What happens in the event of wet weather?

    In the event of wet weather, changes made be made to the course to ensure participant safety and in the event of extreme weather conditions the event may be cancelled.

  • What happens if the event is cancelled?

    If the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions or extreme weather you will be notified via email and/or SMS. Please note, as per the T&Cs, Legacy Brisbane will use reasonable efforts to minimise the cost to you, but entry fees and other costs will not be refunded.

  • How do I reset my password?

    GoFundraise is a popular site for fundraising. Chances are that you may already have a password. If that is the case, you can reset your password here. New registrants will receive a separate email with an auto-generated password.

     

  • How can I get help?

Race pack collection and postage

 
  • Postage of race packs

    Run Army event shirt postage closes on Monday 28th March. If you have elected to have your race pack posted to you, postage will commence approximately two weeks prior to race day. Participants can expect to receive their shirts in the mail between 15-20 April to their registered address. Please ensure your address is entered correctly at the time of payment.

     

  • Collecting your race pack in person

    If you have registered to receive a Race Kit after Monday 21 March, you can collect your kit at the Riverstage in Brisbane on Saturday 23 April from 9am – 4pm. Strictly no Race Kit collections on race day.
