The Anzac Spirit

The 25th of April marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

It is the day on which we remember all who served and died in war and on operational service. We acknowledge their service and sacrifice, and reflect on their example. Today’s Australian Army values of Service, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Excellence are imbued with their spirit.

Anzac Day 2022 will be especially significant, marking the end of Australia’s longest war, the 20-year commitment to Afghanistan, and allowing Australians to reflect and thank those veterans for their service.

Run Army 2022 plans to pay tribute to the 41 Australian soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan, and the many more who were wounded, physically or mentally.
